Welcome to the London College of Law and Management Student Charter. The Student Charter is intended to act as a 'roadmap' to, and reinforcement of LCLM’s statement of intention and expectation.
The Student Charter has been developed by the College and the College Student Union. Its aims are to:
Demonstrate the College's commitment to providing a high quality learning environment were students can flourish;
Set out the overall principles of the collaboration between the College and its students;
Set out student responsibilities and entitlements.
All students are responsible for:
Making the most of their programme of study, their College experience and the other opportunities that the College has to offer;
Ensure that all their financial commitment to the College is met in a timely fashion.
Complying with the College’s policies and procedures;
Complying with the BIA / Home Office policies and procedures (particularly for international students).
Acting as responsible ambassadors for the College through their good conduct and by ensuring that their actions do not have an adverse impact on the College’s reputation, its environment, the local community or those who work or study at the College;
Join with the College in formulating their own education and career goals and in monitoring their progress towards these goals;
Participating in the College’s culture of learning which is based upon critical inquiry, debate and self-motivation;
Pursuing their academic studies in a diligent, honest and professional manner.
All students are entitled to:
Study within a framework that facilitates inquiry-led learning and helps them achieve the learning outcomes of their programme of study;
Be treated with respect and tolerance in an environment in which academic goals may be pursued without fear or intimidation;
Assistance with appropriate access to learning resources and support so that they can take responsibility for their own learning, and improve their knowledge, understanding, skills and competencies;
Receive effective and timely feedback on their academic work;
Be a member of a College that strives to provide a safe and healthy place in which to study and work.
Have access to professional welfare services which are designed to support students who are experiencing difficulties that impede their study;
Receive clear information on tuition and other fees and advice wherever applicable.
Be represented by the LCLMSU and be able to participate in its democratic processes and make use of its services and facilities.
