From 2 July 2007 the Home Office will automatically refuse any visa extension application from a student who has overstayed their visa expiry date by 28 days or more.
Please note this is only for students who apply after they have overstayed by 28 days, not students who are 28 days past their expiry date because of the time taken by the Home Office to process their application.
If your visa application is refused you will have no right of appeal and will be required to leave the country. You will then have to attempt to obtain entry clearance to get back into the UK again.
To avoid this happening please make a note of when your visa expires and make sure you start to deal with it at least 4-6 weeks before the expiry date. This will give you plenty of time to prepare your application.

NO SMOKING – NEW LAW
As you will know, from July 2007, a new law will come into force which prohibits smoking in certain enclosed public places. These include bars, cafe, restaurants, all public facilities such as sports centres, offices, shop and other workplaces.
We would like to inform you that LCLM is considered a public facility, hence no smoking in any college premises is allowed. |
